MX Lookup
Find the mail servers responsible for accepting email for a domain.
When to use this mx lookup
Find a domain's inbound mail servers after an email migration or when messages cannot reach the domain. MX priority helps explain which server is preferred.
What to look for
- Compare mail-server names and priorities with your email provider's instructions.
- Distinguish missing records from a null MX, which explicitly says the domain does not accept email.
- Check SPF and DMARC separately; inbound routing does not establish sender authentication.
How to read the results
Lower priority numbers are preferred. A null MX explicitly declares that a domain does not accept mail.
PASS marks a stated check that passed. WARNING deserves review. FAIL marks a failed check. INFORMATION reports a fact. Results are a snapshot from our server, not a score or certification.
Do correct MX records guarantee email delivery?
No. Delivery also depends on server reachability, mailbox configuration, filtering and other factors. This lookup does not connect to an SMTP server or send a test message.
Download your results as Markdown to save the observations or discuss them with your AI assistant. Reports include the check timestamp and limitations.
